This card allows you to reprogram certain camera functions. And it allows you to transfer certain behaviour to other cameras temporary or you can reprogram them.

Change Settings

  1. Press the "Card Adj." button.
  2. Press the "Func" button to switch between the personal program mode settings.
    Personal Program Mode Settings:
    Front Dial Rear Dial
    Display 1 Exposure Mode (P/A/S/M) Exposure Compensation (± 4EV in 0.5 EV increments)
    Display 2 Focus Aera (wide/center) Metering Pattern (honeycomp pattern/spot)
  3. Press "Card" button to switch to "Function Settings".
  4. Use the front dial to change the custom settings, and press the "Card" button to move to the next custom setting.
    Function Settings:
    Function Number Control Settings Actions
    CUSt 1 Film counter 1 Displays number of frames shot
    2 Displays frames remaining
    CUSt 2 Start of film rewind 1 Automatic
    2 Manual
    CUSt 3 Film tip 1 Rewound into cartridge
    2 Left out of cartridge
    CUSt 4 DX memory 1 Keep manually changed DX-coded film's ISO also for the new film
    2 Keep manually change DX-coded film's ISO only for the current film
    CUSt 5 Program flash control 1 Autoswitchover. (The flash will be activated automatically if the camera sees the need for it)
    2 Manual switchover. (Flash has to be turned on/off manually, and will fire always if turned on)
    CUSt 6 Focus-hold button (Only for lenses with a focus hold button) 1 Focus hold (Lock the focus)
    2 Center-area select (Use only the center AF)
    3 Continuous AF (Activate continuous autofocus if button is pressed)
    CUSt 7 Eyepiece sensor activation 1 Eyepiece sensor will be activated by the handgrip sensor.
    2 Eyepiece sensor is activated as soon the main switch is turned on.

  5. Press the "Card Adj." button to store the settings in the camera and the card. You can remove the card from the camera.
Note:
  • You can use a second Customized Function Card Xi to change temporary the settings. Insert the card and press the "Card" button, so that the "CARD" indication is activated. The camera will use those settings as long as the card is activated.
  • There is a trick to force the camera not to rewind the film tip into the cartridge. Take the batterie out of the camera during the rewinding of the film and put it back in. The camera will continue to rewind, but it will leave the film tip out of the cartridge.
